Britney -- Family at War

TMZ has learned that it's all-out war in Britney Spears' family.
Britney Spears' family
As TMZ has been reporting for weeks, people behind the scenes in Britney's life have been gearing up for an intervention -- which is now officially underway. There is a lot of behind-the-scenes anger surrounding the intervention, and the anger is directed at one Sam Lutfi, Brit's constant companion.

Yesterday, Sam called TMZ's Harvey Levin, with Britney by Sam's side, and told us Britney's family "barged in" to her home Monday night. Sam said of the family, "They have an agenda. Their agenda is jealously because they don't fit in. I do. They see her three times a year."

Click to launch!Britney was standing by the phone during Lutfi's conversation with Levin. Lutfi claimed he did not force Britney to buy a new Mercedes yesterday as the family claimed. He asked Brit, "Did I force you to buy a car." In a heavy southern accent she responded, "No." He continued, "Do I ever bug you." She replied, "We argue."

Lutfi said Britney's mom is fine with him -- it's her dad who's problem, claiming he's been verbally abusive to Brit and physically abusive to Sam. Family sources tell TMZ they believe Sam is a "megalomaniac" who is motivated by "evil."

Ruben Not Peachy with Show Promoter

Fallen "Idol" Ruben Studdard can barely find a place to sing for his supper these days, and now he's suing a concert promoter called Peachez Inc., and he's asking for more than lunch money!

In a lawsuit filed in New York Supreme Court, the "Idol" star wants $45,000 from Peachez, alleging breach of contract. The Dallas-based company describes itself as "a specialty marketing company" with clients in the "entertainment industry." We've called Ruben's lawyers and Peachez, but so far, we haven't had a response.

It's all going downhill for Ruben, who just got canned by his record label after his latest album tanked.

Move over King Tut -- it's Queen Butt!
Oprah Winfrey
Artist Daniel Edwards has created a bootyful bronze sculpture of a curvaceous and robust Oprah Winfrey, called, "The Oprah Sarcophagus." Edwards previously created a life-sized statue of Britney giving birth, and one of a dead Paris Hilton.

It's safe to say Edwards isn't one of Big O's favorite things!

Britney Being Treated for Her Disease

If you think Britney Spears doesn't give a crap about getting help for her condition, think again.
Britney Spears
Multiple sources tell TMZ Britney has seen numerous doctors. We know that she's seen a new psychiatrist who has come to her home every day this week and that she's on medication to treat her bipolar disease. We also know doctors have indeed concluded she suffers from bipolarity.

Britney has seen doctors who have been referred by other doctors, plus doctors who have been referred by celebrities Britney knows, and doctors referred by her lawyers, family and friends. We're told the process has been excruciating for her, partly because her disease is severe.

Sources tell slightly different stories about the efficacy of the medication. A friend says when Britney takes her medicine she is like "a different person -- normal and sweet." But she takes her meds for a while and then feels as if she can live without it -- so she stops taking them -- and her condition quickly deteriorates. But a professional tells TMZ flatly, "The medication just isn't working."

That same professional tells TMZ, "She's really trying. Whether it works -- we'll have to see." That person also says it's extremely frustrating when the media shows video of Britney out on the town acting crazy, adding, "She has a disease. Sometimes when you see her she's in the middle of an episode. It's like mocking someone with Down syndrome."

79. I have never felt compelled to write anything like this before. I am so ashamed of the media. Why you participate in this young woman's demise simply puts the focus on you. Anything for the hype - anything for the buck. This is amazingly sad - I know you don't care - you just want your name's to me made great. The cost to the soul and spirit of another person is no matter. I don't know this girl, I don't know her music. I only know that she is a human being and noone deserves the negative hype she's getting.

Keep doing it. In the end you will make her victim (whether she is or not) and you will make yourselves the bully - heartless creatures who would die if this were happening to someone you love.

I watch this only to see your demise, not hers.

80. People say addiction is a disease, and I say use your empowerment, money, assets, and marketability to move on... you don't need to buy into a family with a bad computer, a tarnished reputation, and lies. See under (B.S.).

81. Britney is a grown woman and a mother, who still has some growing up to do.Bipolar is a severe disease that requires alot of psychiatric therapy, medicines, and sometimes, hospitalization.Nobody should be putting her down, she a human being too.Just be glad it's not you that has to go through what she's going through. She doesn't have any time to herself unless she's inside her home because the paparazzi won't leave her alone.the whole world is just picking on her and they need to quit. The truth is that if it were you,you wouldn't be able to deal with the paparazzi if they followed you wherever you went and then talked alot of mess about you and your family.Show her some respect and leave her alone.

82. Its unfortunate that with celebrity comes voyeurism and mis-trust. Because your life is an open book everyone surrounding you feels they are entitled to a piece of the pie. There is also jealousy; those that will live their life and try to obtain their own dreams and/or celebrity through someone else; this is what has happened to Britney. Her parents, family, supposed friends, and even her husband or love interests have sold her out or used her in some way for their own gain; it's sick. Think how difficult it would be to go through life without your closest friend, or your spouse, or any number of other people that you confide in and trust; as the general public, these are the things that we take for granted. I wish that celebrities could spend a week with normal people, just to see the daily insights, love, and friendships that they are missing. Way too many people jump to conclusions without knowing the whole story, they just want to be heard.

83. BRITINY'S MOTHER ISN'T THE PROBLEM HERE IT'S BRITNEY HER SELF NOT HER X HUSBAND NOT HER SISTER BUT BRITNEY. WHEN WE GROW UP AND BECOME ADULTS THAT'S WHEN WE START TAKNING RESPONSIBILITY FOR OUR OWN ACTIONS. THAT'S WHEN WE MAKE OUR CHOICES IN LIFE SOME OF US ARE READY AT HER AGE AND SOME ARE NOT. IN BRITNEYS CASE SHE WASN'T READY SHE JUST A SPOILED RICH BRAT OUT OF CONTROL AND NOW HER PARENTS ARE TRYING TO HELP HER BUT SHE IS TO FAR GONE. SHE DID THIS TO HERSELF SHE WILL NEVER MAKE A COME BACK SHE HAS BECOME A NASTY UGLY SKANK AND SHE SISTER IS RIGHT BEHIND HER.

84. Heres the deal with the paps. There are like wolves. Once you throw that first piece of meat out there because their hungry then that is it once you feed them the first bite they NEVER go away. Brit was warned. She loved it in the beginning cause it helped her career. Now, it is e disableing her with her mistakes and failures. The paps have $ signs and it is sad cause some of them want to get the best picture for the bucks so they can have a good life for their families to. If my mom or dad did that for a job I would be embarrased. So tell me was Anna Nicole and the rest of them Bipolar as well? I wished someone would have interviened with Anna Nicole how she was a truely troubled girl. She had no family and her mom was horrible and disowned her. Dr. Phil where were you then?? At least Britney has a family that cares! Anna had noone but her son and bloodsuckers. Britney has money and a family not to meantion 2 ex-husbands and 2 children. There is noone that is going to tell me that this girl can't be helped. The problem is she was spoiled all her life and got everything she wanted..and she is still doing it!!!! If it were me I'd take my phyco self with one person and leave to get well somewhere away from everyone like the movie "ENOUGH" with Jennifer Lopez and just gooooooooooo!!!! Hide out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

85. I agree with alot of you, I do feel bad about britney, her parents pushed her into singing since she could talk, all they wanted was her money and she didnt give it to them, when she got older, her parents done give a crap about her, She needs to find someone, not a guy either, someone that really cares, that isnt trying to have kids with her, and someone that isnt in it for her money. Heck i would listen to the girl.. i feel bad for her, she needs real family. I think all these tacky magazines need to leave her the heck alone. because if she is really that unstable who knows she could be the next one gone, and really it would be a shame. So leave her alone people.

86. Britney can not get along with anyone..her parents..her manager.. her attornies...court appointed monitors...her friends..etc. I just wonder who the problem is here? Her parents did not do a great job with her or her sister, but when you are 26..it is time to be a big girl or boy and be responsible and rational.

88. I am not a Brittany fan, I am too old for that. However, I do have an opinion about this so called disease that she has been diagnosed with. Everyone nowadays wants to pass things off on a psychological disease named "bipolar". HOGWASH. My ex-wife claimed the same thing. This "disease" is running as rampant as "ADD", (which I do not believe is real either). Everyone is looking for an excuse to explain their behavior, rather than own up to their irresponsibility. Where was bi-polar 20 years ago? Was it just the fact that they didn't have the mind altering drugs at that time to keep people in line?? Get a grip America!! It is just a way out!! If Brittany wants to stay out of trouble,...then she has the God-given mind to do so...without medication. It is all just an excuse,...not only for Brittany,...but for millions of people that now want to claim this new "disease".

89. i do agree with some comments at least brit is trying to get help bi-polar disorder is treatable but it will never go away it is genetic i know because i to have suffered with it for many years and i didnt know until 4 years ago you can be bi polar all you life and not know it until something triggers it and it is hard to deal with i have a pretty severe case but i can only imagine what she is going through with all these people harassing her i know when i would have a episode i just wanted to be left alone so i wouldnt hurt the ones i cared for not to mention if you are like me a manic depressive bipolar person then you dont sleep on top of that so i do feel sorry for her and i know what she is going through keep the head up brit.
