Britney -- Family at War

TMZ has learned that it's all-out war in Britney Spears' family.
Britney Spears' family
As TMZ has been reporting for weeks, people behind the scenes in Britney's life have been gearing up for an intervention -- which is now officially underway. There is a lot of behind-the-scenes anger surrounding the intervention, and the anger is directed at one Sam Lutfi, Brit's constant companion.

Yesterday, Sam called TMZ's Harvey Levin, with Britney by Sam's side, and told us Britney's family "barged in" to her home Monday night. Sam said of the family, "They have an agenda. Their agenda is jealously because they don't fit in. I do. They see her three times a year."

Click to launch!Britney was standing by the phone during Lutfi's conversation with Levin. Lutfi claimed he did not force Britney to buy a new Mercedes yesterday as the family claimed. He asked Brit, "Did I force you to buy a car." In a heavy southern accent she responded, "No." He continued, "Do I ever bug you." She replied, "We argue."

Lutfi said Britney's mom is fine with him -- it's her dad who's problem, claiming he's been verbally abusive to Brit and physically abusive to Sam. Family sources tell TMZ they believe Sam is a "megalomaniac" who is motivated by "evil."

Ruben Not Peachy with Show Promoter

Fallen "Idol" Ruben Studdard can barely find a place to sing for his supper these days, and now he's suing a concert promoter called Peachez Inc., and he's asking for more than lunch money!

In a lawsuit filed in New York Supreme Court, the "Idol" star wants $45,000 from Peachez, alleging breach of contract. The Dallas-based company describes itself as "a specialty marketing company" with clients in the "entertainment industry." We've called Ruben's lawyers and Peachez, but so far, we haven't had a response.

It's all going downhill for Ruben, who just got canned by his record label after his latest album tanked.

Oprah -- Big, Bronzed, and Naked

Move over King Tut -- it's Queen Butt!
Oprah Winfrey
Artist Daniel Edwards has created a bootyful bronze sculpture of a curvaceous and robust Oprah Winfrey, called, "The Oprah Sarcophagus." Edwards previously created a life-sized statue of Britney giving birth, and one of a dead Paris Hilton.

It's safe to say Edwards isn't one of Big O's favorite things!

Britney Being Treated for Her Disease

If you think Britney Spears doesn't give a crap about getting help for her condition, think again.
Britney Spears
Multiple sources tell TMZ Britney has seen numerous doctors. We know that she's seen a new psychiatrist who has come to her home every day this week and that she's on medication to treat her bipolar disease. We also know doctors have indeed concluded she suffers from bipolarity.

Britney has seen doctors who have been referred by other doctors, plus doctors who have been referred by celebrities Britney knows, and doctors referred by her lawyers, family and friends. We're told the process has been excruciating for her, partly because her disease is severe.

Sources tell slightly different stories about the efficacy of the medication. A friend says when Britney takes her medicine she is like "a different person -- normal and sweet." But she takes her meds for a while and then feels as if she can live without it -- so she stops taking them -- and her condition quickly deteriorates. But a professional tells TMZ flatly, "The medication just isn't working."

That same professional tells TMZ, "She's really trying. Whether it works -- we'll have to see." That person also says it's extremely frustrating when the media shows video of Britney out on the town acting crazy, adding, "She has a disease. Sometimes when you see her she's in the middle of an episode. It's like mocking someone with Down syndrome."

166. My heart just breaks for her, I am a mother of 3 children and I just want to help her. She needs to get away from hollywood and the public eye, she needs a good safe place to basically hideout. I wish with all my heat I knew her.. I live in Houston Texas and we have a great medical center. My prayere is that someoone in her life will really come through for her.

167. Brittney needs to be taken off the charts. I have had enough of Brittney and her wild stupid actions. Everyone needs to stop purchasing her recordings and take her out of the lime light. She is an immature childish inconsiderate child. She should never be allowed to have her children again and she should be disbarred from public appearances. I used to like Brittney but now she is nothing but a coke head and trash.

168. Wby doesn't the papparazzi and the press at large STOP hounding this poor girl and let her get the help she needs in PEACE! in this day and age, are we that ingnorant to the tragedy of mental illness? The way the press and people in general talk about Britney, as if she's not human or that she's just "rich, spoiled and out of contro" if utterly disgusting! She has DISEASE. Would people mock a cancer patient for losing their hair or someone metally retarded for their actions? Why is mental illness any different? WAKE UP AMERICA AND SMELL THE COFFEE! Have a heart and above all, USE YOUR BRAIN! Have compassion and understanding, NOT jealousy and mockery! Look in the mirror.....that could ve you!

169. I think (as do most normal people) that Britney just needs a break. I'm glad that she's finally letting her family back into her life & right on to her Dad for looking out for his kid. Hopefully she will get the help she so badly needs. I think that bipolar disorder is a very serious disease that needs medical attention & am so glad that she's finally seen this. I hope that she surrounds herself with good people that she can trust to see that she gets well. AKA her family. As someons said earlier, everyone else has some kind of an agenda. I truly hope that she can get herself together if she ever plans to see her kids again. Who'd've thought K-Fed would be the "good guy" in this mess??

170. I think your poll should be more along the lines of "are you tired of hearing about Brittney Spears?". I think you would be surprised about the results. The whole country has reached the point of saturation with the whole thing.
TMZ is supposed to be an "entertainment" show. I should be able to turn it on and have a good laugh, not be revolted. The Brittney story stopped being entertaining after she lost her children, and a mental illness was revealed. Now it's just a tragedy, With all the problems in the world right now, people need a little break, something to laugh about, not cry.

Now that she is under the care of a psychiatrist, can't you be humane and give her a little room to breathe. You have all had your piece of her and I am sure got pretty wealthy in the process. It's time to move on, before you take responsibility in pushing her over the edge. There is a ripple of american sentiment growing hostile towards the paparazzis techniques. The Jennifer Love Hewitt story was the first blow against TMZ. If anything happens to Brittney, you guys will see a blowback from the american public that will be swift and critical and then the story is going to be......TMZ.

171. Okay so Britney is getting the help she needs and a judge has made decisions to put better people in control of her finances and welfare. So now, even if her parents aren't that great, a judge is going to be watching their every move to make sure that Britney's best interests are taken care of. So glad someone stepped in before the girl ended up dead. I think she has a lot of talent left in her and she deserves to get another chance at performing if she wants it AFTER they get her all cleaned up and under the proper medication. Hell anybody could go crazy under all that pressure regardless of wether there was a pre-existing mental condition or not.
Good luck Britney and may you soon get to see your children again. We know you love them you just aren't in your RIGHT mind.
